Praying for someone can aid their recovery, it is claimed
Praying for somebody who is ill can make them better, research suggests.
A study carried out by the University of Maryland in the US has found prayer and spiritual healing may reduce pain and speed up the recovery of patients.

Why are young people leaving the church?
I heard a survey quoted recently claiming 86% of the young people in the evangelical church leave at age 18 and never come back. This figure sounds incredibly high to me but even if it is in actuality only a fraction of that amount it still shows there is a real problem in the Church today. I don't have any statistics or surveys to back up what follows. This is simply my opinion on the subject.

Just pray, offering whatever you're thinking and feeling to the Lord. Whatever you bring, it's a start. As you pray more regularly or more often, the usual experience is that a strange thing starts happening to you. You start being more truthful in prayer, you start turning away from what you did wrong, your attitude becomes more confident, you start taking the time to listen, you start looking for the signs of divine dialogue in your daily life, you start hungering to read the Scriptures, you start wanting to pray with others, you think less and less about yourself. You'll find things to do and ways to prepare that help you be more open to God in prayer -- you don't have to do them, but they can help. You begin to let the Holy Spirit change you. And this is the beating heart of a relationship with Someone you can't see or touch. Strange? But it's true. True love.

Pray for your Prodigals
Dealing with prodigals can be a very hurtful time for both family members and friends, but hold on to the fact that God loves us all and when that prodigal realises that true love only comes from God they will return and God will waiting for them with all the treasures of Heaven. Please pray that those with the heart of the older brother will be softened to realising the heart of God. Pray that hope will never be lost and that people realise that hope, courage and the will to carry on loving, comes from God.
